Dr Kirshni Appanna (Dr K)

Dr Kirshni Appanna (otherwise known as Dr K) grew up as a fourth generation South African and graduated from the University of Natal in 1991. She completed her internship at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. She then worked in Paediatrics and General Practice both in Durban and Cape Tow. During this time she completed her Diploma in Paediatrics.
After visiting New Zealand in 1993 on a working holiday, together with her husband Dr Priyen Naidoo, Kirshni immigrated in 1996 to join the rest of her family who has been here for over 30 years.
Kirshni is extremely passionate about educating others and is a member of NZ Society of Cosmetic Medicine. She serves on the Senior Education Faculty and has been involved with teaching and assessing practitioners completing the Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine since 2012. She is a co-educator of the Vampire series of treatments for Australasia and is a trainer for MERZ Aesthetics, training nurses and doctors throughout New Zealand.
Cosmetic medicine is an ever evolving speciality, giving Dr K an opportunity to combine her passion of travel and work, she is regularly participating and speaking at conferences and workshops, keeping abreast of the latest best practice techniques. Dr K has a keen aesthetic eye and non surgical services and treatments include wrinkle relaxers for facial lines, frown, forehead lines and crows feet, dermal filler treatments for all aspects of facial volume and contouring, minor surgery for the removal of benign skin lesions and moles. Advanced treatments using Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy include Vampire Face Lift®, Vampire Breast Lift® and O Shot®.

When she is not working or spending time with her family including her “fur baby” Pomeranian, she enjoys tramping, yoga, music, dancing, scrapbooking and interior design.
